Atalanta head coach, Raffaele Palladino, has addressed Ademola Lookman’s upcoming departure for international duty.

Lookman is anticipated to be included in the Super Eagles’ squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations this week.

The former African Footballer of the Year will join his international teammates in training camp next Monday.

The 28-year-old player will be away for a month if Nigeria progresses to the final of the tournament.

Atalanta will also be without defender Odilon Kossounou, who will be representing Cote d’Ivoire.

Palladino expressed his disappointment regarding the absence of both players.

“We are losing two crucial players for us [Lookman and Kossounou], who are strong and impactful, but we are welcoming back Kolasinac and Scalvini, who are equally important,” he told reporters.
