Adeleke begging to join APC  —  Omisore

A former deputy governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has described the governor of the state, Ademola Adeleke, as a political orphan.

Omisore made the remark on Wednesday on Channels TV while reacting to speculation suggesting that Adeleke is planning to dump the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

According to Omisore, Governor Adeleke, who was elected on the platform of PDP, is now considering APC membership.

He accused Adeleke of begging APC stalwarts, including a southern governor, to allow him to join the party.

“For the past three years, he has been governing that state, with no single person decamping from APC to PDP.

“Meanwhile, one over seventh of PDP members have moved to APC, which you know, of course, Alhaji Isa Oyedokun, Dayo Babayemi, Hon. Wole Oke and others are still coming,”; said Omisore.

He added: “Why do you want to force yourself on the party? Why is the governor begging to enter the party? He is struggling, begging and fighting to join APC.”;

DAILY POST reports that Adeleke’s recent meeting with President Bola Tinubu has fuelled speculations that he is harbouring plans to dump PDP for APC.
