Senator Binos Yaroe, who represents Adamawa South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He announced his withdrawal from the party, stating that he had endured enough of a PDP which, he said, was drifting irreversibly towards self-destruction at the national level.
In a statement to newsmen, Yaroe emphasised that the current state of the PDP left him with no option.
βAfter many years of fruitful journey as a committed member of the PDP, it pains me that the party has elected to self-destruct at the national level,β Yaroe stated.
Adding that he had little choice but to withdraw his membership of the party, the senator confirmed that he had officially notified the party structure of his decision.
He specified that he had submitted his formal resignation letter to his ward chairman in Mbilla Ward of Mayo-Belwa LGA.
This comes as the second major defection from the PDP in Adamawa State this month, following that of former Minister of State for Health, Dr Aliyu Idi Hong.
