Julius Abure, the factional chairman of the Labour Party, LP, has held a meeting with Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

The meeting was held at Wike’s residence in Abuja,

Although the purpose or agenda of the meeting remains unclear, however, it comes just days after the Abure-led faction urged Peter Obi, the LP’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, to leave the party over his decision to join the African Democratic Congress, ADC, coalition.

Wike, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who serves as a minister in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government, has been accused by his party members of being the ‘mastermind’ behind the crisis plaguing the opposition party.

Less than a week ago, Julius Abure, had asked the Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, by claiming he has not aligned with the other faction’s Caretaker Committee within the coalition party.
