Ogun State Governor and Chairman of the Southern Governors Forum, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has extended his congratulations to Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, on his re-election.
Soludo, who ran under the banner of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), emerged victorious in the Anambra governorship election held on Saturday.
According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), he garnered 422,664 votes out of 584,054 valid votes cast, defeating Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who received 99,445 votes. The ADC and PDP candidates obtained 8,208 and 1,401 votes respectively.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, Abiodun remarked that the results clearly indicate that the citizens of Anambra State have immense confidence in Soludo’s leadership.
He encouraged the governor to leverage this victory to further promote the advantages of democracy and bring together all political factions in the state for its advancement.
“The people of Anambra have expressed themselves clearly through their votes, demonstrating their trust in Governor Soludo’s leadership,” Abiodun stated.
“I sincerely congratulate my brother and Vice Chairman of the Southern Governors Forum, Prof. Soludo, and urge him to continue inspiring his constituents with impactful policies and projects. By fostering unity, he will enhance the democratic achievements in the state.”
Abiodun also commended Soludo for fostering a collaborative relationship with President Bola Tinubu's administration and encouraged him to persist in promoting democracy and good governance.
