Jon appeared in today’s episode of the new series and spoke abou his condition
In dramatic scenes that aired on Tuesday’s episode, viewers saw Jon speaking from his hospital bed after being told by doctors that he had suffered a heart attack.
He said: “Just when we thought we were getting back to normal life, or as normal as life can be.
“Mid renovation, this afternoon, when we were with one of the builders, I got sort of pains in my chest and tight chested, achy arms.
“We called an ambulance, and now I’m in hospital.
“The blood test results suggest that I’ve had a mild heart attack.
“I think sometimes it’s called an angna, which sounds way less scary than a heart attack, but anyway, they’re doing tests.”
The ordeal came just months after Jon broke his left leg playing padel tennis in January and later developed thrombosis during his recovery.
Jasmine also revealed the terrifying hospital dash has forced her to reassess her life, especially after several personal losses in recent years.
Recalling the shocking moment during filming, said: “We’d just had lunch and he said he started to feel funny and strange.
“He went to lie down but he then started to get very agitated and said there was a tightening in his chest.
“He was having a bit of trouble breathing and everything that was touching him was annoying him.
“I immediately called the ambulance as soon as he said he felt funny.”
Jasmine and Jon, who share two children – Joy, 12, and Albion, nine – have documented the highs and lows of the ambitious project for their new show.
Jon had previously spoken about heart problems running in his family.
His sister Jo tragically died in 2016 at the age of 40 from sudden arrhythmic death syndrome.
And Jasmine’s close friend and fellow A Place In The Sun presenter died from cancer in February 2024, aged 50.
Speaking to the Mirror , Jasmine continued: “Jon is fine now and he is back working.
“I know this sounds strange but even with the background of what could have happened and worrying he could have died; it makes you feel lucky he just had a mild heart attack and everything is fine.
“But the challenges life throws at you has made me take things in my stride a lot better than I used to.”
