Things are moving forward in “Crushology 101”;! Just like that, we are halfway through this story. In these latest episodes, there were so many good moments that made viewers feel excited and anxious but mostly expectant of what’s to come for Ban Hee Jin (Roh Jeong Eui), Hwang Jae Yeol (Lee Chae Min), and Cha Ji Won (Cho Jun Young). Here are all the times they got viewers holding their breaths and making hearts race this week!

1. Jae Yeol confirming his feelings to Hee Jin
Hwang Jae Yeol may not be a man of many words, but he doesn’t really need them as his actions speak louder. His drunken and sloppy confession might not have quite the effect he expected on Ban Hee Jin, since she believes it is all a mistake or a twisted joke. However, once he admits his feelings for her, he goes all out. He leaves behind his aloof facade and practically becomes a puppy following Ban Hee Jin, also known as Bunny, around, making sure she has a clear idea about how he feels for her.
From saving a seat for her in the library so she can study to running to her after the fire alarm on a building goes off, or buying medicine for her cold, his acts of service never end when it comes to Ban Hee Jin. This also reveals a kind of shy and very sweet side of him that so far was unknown to the viewers. Luckily, his reward for his honest efforts comes sooner rather than later.
2. Ban Hee Jin accepting she has a crush on Jae Yeol
Ban Hee Jin is a tough nut to crack. Her doubts about Jae Yeol’s intentions could come from her horrible past experiences, however, they could also be due to her skeptical nature. Even though he has been nothing but clear about his feelings, her first response is to deny the possibility of it being true. Nonetheless, as she starts to notice new things about Jae Yeol and overcomes her bad first impressions about him, her heart finally opens up to him.
This crush feels totally different from the previous ones she’s had. Not only does Jae Yeol correspond her feelings and is actively pursuing her, but she also seems to be ready to jump at the chance of leaving her insecurities aside and even start a relationship with him. But things apparently can’t be that easy for these two as someone from Jae Yeol’s past comes back to ruin their barely blooming romance.
3. Hwang Jae Yeol and Ban Hee Jin being jealous
The cloud on Jae Yeol and Hee Jin’s parade turns out to be none other than Jae Yeol’s ex-girlfriend. A perfect and beautiful news anchor that comes out of the blue, she tries to get back with him after one-sidedly breaking up with him in the past. Her presence triggers all of Hee Jin’s insecurities and fears, which makes her take a step aside and distance herself from Jae Yeol, bringing us back to square one with them. This is disappointing to say the least but somehow expected.
On the other hand, for Jae Yeol, there has always been someone who represents a threat: Cha Ji Won. He has always been close to Ban Hee Jin, although only as a good friend. However, Jae Yeol gets more and more suspicious about Ji Won’s true feelings for Hee Jin, creating a tense vibe between them and eliminating any kind of alliance they had in the past. Furthermore, there seems to be a new character that will stir things up even more in the upcoming episodes.
4. Cha Ji Won slowly realizing his feelings
Despite the fact that Hwang Jae Yeol is a charming and amazing male lead, Cha Ji Won continues stealing hearts every episode. He is considerate, amiable, sweet to Ban Hee Jin, and he’s always ready to help her in whatever she needs. In that sense, you couldn’t ask for a better second male lead. However, it is a pain to see him having second thoughts about his own feelings.
So far, he’s been on the sidelines, always assuming his role as Bunny’s good friend. But it might be Jae Yeol’s constant confrontation which may bring Ji Won to finally admit he has feelings for her and follow his heart. What he will do and how that will affect their friendship is yet to be discovered. But he will surely bring a new point of romantic vibes—proof of that are his small details like carrying a picture of him and Bunny in his wallet.
5. Hwang Jae Yeol fighting to stay close to Ban Hee Jin
Even if Jae Yeol isn’t interested anymore in his ex, he struggles to make his point across to her and to Bunny. Although it is initially funny watching him on the receiving end of Bunny’s cold attitude, it is even better when he takes the courage to clearly explain that there’s nothing left between him and his ex-girlfriend. There’s nothing more magical than watching a scene where two characters finally communicate and decide to trust each other.
Sadly, they both are still too inexperienced when it comes to having a crush on someone and inevitably end up in a big misunderstanding. Even more shocking, Jae Yeol makes the reckless decision of kissing Hee Jin out of nowhere in front of his ex, leaving us with a heart attack until the next episodes, when we discover how Bunny will react to this unexpected situation. So let’s brace ourselves for a bunch of new exciting moments!
