Former media aide to the late ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, has cautioned former President Goodluck Jonathan against returning to politics.

Ahmad noted that returning to politics would destroy Jonathan’s legacy because he has played his role in the country’s democratic journey.

Posting on X, the former media aide wrote: “Goodluck Jonathan has already played his role in Nigeria’s democratic journey and left office peacefully, earning respect both locally and internationally.

“Pulling him into a project that lacks clear direction or public trust may only damage the legacy he worked hard to build.

“I understand that those who are now seriously pushing and calling on former President Goodluck Jonathan to return to the political scene are doing so because they have finally realized that their movement lacks direction and the nationwide support needed to succeed.

“After all the noise and alliances, they are beginning to see that their agenda is not gaining the momentum they expected.

“Now, they want to drag Jonathan into a struggle that will not produce any meaningful result. We see this move as political desperation rather than genuine concern for the country.”
