A prominent member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dele Momodu, has explained the reasons behind former Bayelsa Senator Ben Murray-Bruce's decision to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

During an interview on the 'Prime Time' program aired on Arise Television, which was monitored by DAILY POST on Friday, Momodu expressed that Murray-Bruce's transition to the APC was not unexpected, emphasizing that it is currently the path of least resistance.

The publisher of Ovation Magazine remarked that those of them in the opposition are often perceived as lacking intelligence.

Regarding Murray-Bruce's defection, Momodu commented, “I watched it in complete disbelief because I had assumed he was collaborating with us during the Atiku campaign in the presidential election. That was my impression, and perhaps my judgment was mistaken.”

“Nonetheless, I respect his rights as outlined in the Nigerian Constitution regarding freedom of association and movement. Therefore, I have no issue with his decision. Nothing can truly astonish me anymore when it comes to politicians.”

“Some individuals have legitimate reasons for transitioning from one party to another, especially if they believe their ambitions will be better fulfilled in the new party.”

“Thus, Murray-Bruce's shift to the APC is not surprising; that is where the path is currently smoother. Those of us in the opposition are often viewed as foolish and not clever enough to join the competitive race.”
