The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, on Saturday hinted on running for the presidency in 2027.

Umahi, who said 2027 is not the turn of the Southeast, vowed to run when the time comes.

He spoke during the Ohanivo 2025 New Yam Festival in Onicha LGA of Ebonyi State.

The former governor of the state said he would reveal the number of projects President Bola Tinubu has used him to execute in the Southeast.

According to Umahi, Igbos would judge when the time comes.

He said: “It’s not our turn, when it’s our turn for the presidency who is more qualified than this me?

“When the time comes I will tell you what the president has used me to do in the Southeast and let Igbos be the judge.”

In 2022, Umahi had declared his intention to run for the 2023 presidency.

This was after he consulted with the late former President Muhammadu Buhari after the current President, Bola Tinubu declared his intentions then.

On January 12, 2022, the former governor said God had informed him to run for the president of Nigeria.
