Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has revealed the real reasons state governors across the federation are defecting to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Fielding questions during an interview on Politics Today, a programme on Channels Television on Tuesday, Governor Sule said the reforms of President Bola Tinubu are the secret to the mass defection into the ruling party.

DAILY POST reports that in recent times, a handful of governors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the only New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) governor, Abba Yusuf of Kano State, have joined the ruling party.

“Why do the political parties panic when the governors are leaving, and their departure does not mean anything? Why does the governors’ departure become a betrayal or a problem?

“As at yesterday, we welcomed the 29th governor; that is the governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang. The governor of Taraba will also be received officially into the party in the next two days.

“More governors are joining the APC because of the impact they have been able to make, driven by the reforms of President Tinubu.

“If you go to every state in Nigeria, you will see major changes as a result of the improved revenue that these governors are getting,” Sule said.
