2027: PDP deeply rooted despite gale of defections – Buba-Jajere

A member representing Fika/Fune Federal Constituency of Yobe State, Alhaji Muhammed Buba-Jajere, says the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is deeply rooted and will remain so in spite of the recent gale of defections.
Buba-Jajere, who made this known in Damaturu on Thursday, said the party remains a strong opposition because it has roots and structures all over the country.

According to him, the defections were no serious threat to the PDP because the party is firmly established, especially in terms of ideas, beliefs, and values.

The lawmaker said that so many people have come into the PDP, and others have left, adding that the party has existed for a long time and has become strongly embedded.

He added that the recent defections would not change anything in any way, stressing that the party has re-strategised in Yobe.

He also dismissed the insinuation that Nigeria was heading towards a one-party state.

“We have gotten rid of saboteurs, and we will emerge victorious come 2027 in the state.

“Nigeria is a large country comprising so many people with different ideologies, as well as ethnic and religious backgrounds. It is just impossible to coerce people into a one-party system,”; Buba-Jajere said.
