The Presidency has expressed strong confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s chances of winning re-election in 2027, asserting that no politician in Nigeria possesses the capability to challenge him.
The Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, made this statement in Abuja on Tuesday during a meeting with over 100 Tinubu support groups from across the nation.
The event, titled “Meet and Greet with the Spokesman,” aimed to enhance collaboration between the Presidency and grassroots supporters in anticipation of the upcoming general elections.
“We believed that, as part of the strategy to disseminate the achievements of this administration, it is essential to connect with the source — the support groups — engage with them, express our gratitude for their efforts, and encourage them to contribute more for the love of the country and for the love of the President,” Bwala stated.
He emphasized that Tinubu’s policies and reforms over the past two years have revitalized confidence in the nation’s economy and governance, making his re-election bid increasingly likely.
“No politician in Nigeria today has the capability to challenge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We are transitioning from renewed hope to recovery, and that recovery must be experienced in the lives of ordinary Nigerians,” he added.
Bwala clarified that representatives from all six geopolitical zones and some delegates from the United Kingdom attended the meeting. He noted that the gathering was not a campaign rally but a means to foster better coordination between the government and its supporters.
“People often wait until election time to seek support groups, but that is not the appropriate approach. They are not mere tools to be utilized; they are partners in the process. They should be included in the initiatives of the government,” he remarked.
He announced that similar meetings would soon take place in the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada to engage Nigerians in the diaspora and raise awareness of the government’s accomplishments.
Bwala mentioned that Tinubu’s economic reforms are already yielding visible results across various sectors, including energy, agriculture, infrastructure, and job creation. “When we visit the field, you will observe progress in the economy, security, education, and agriculture. These groups will continue to convey that message,” he highlighted.
Former lawmaker Ehiozuwa Johnson Agbonayinma, who also addressed the gathering, commended Tinubu’s leadership, characterizing him as a reformer who has established a solid foundation for enduring development.
He praised the elimination of the fuel subsidy, stating that it has liberated trillions of naira for state governments to invest in local development projects. Both Bwala and Agbonayinma encouraged support groups to persist in promoting the administration’s policies and unity throughout the nation.
“President Tinubu has accomplished enough to warrant not only the people’s support but also their love and dedication to further what his government has initiated,” Bwala concluded.
