The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has stated that former President Goodluck Jonathan has not communicated any intentions to run in the 2027 presidential election.
Wike made this comment on Friday during a media briefing with journalists in Abuja, addressing rumors that Jonathan was being urged to re-enter the presidential race.
He remarked, “You’re the one telling me this. Jonathan has never mentioned it to me; he has never called me even once.
“Look, I’m being encouraged to run; what do you think? If he reaches out to me and asks, I will share my thoughts and feelings with him.
“I will not simply accept what you all publish in the newspapers—just like when you claimed they flew me out of the country—so I should assume that it’s true.”
