The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Thursday, announced the birth of the country's First Baby of the Year 2026, who was born precisely at midnight at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Abuja.

Baby Zion Adakole was born to Mr. and Mrs. Celestine Adakole through a caesarean section, with Mrs. Patience Adakole being a 26-year-old first-time mother.

As part of her tradition aimed at promoting love, particularly in support of maternal and child health, Mrs. Tinubu presented a National Birth Certificate issued by the National Population Commission (NPC) to the newborn, recognizing him as the Baby of the Year.

According to the management of the hospital, Zion Adakole was the first baby delivered at the facility in 2026.
