Flying Eagles midfielder, Alabi Sulaiman says the team is determined to win a record extending eighth title at the ongoing 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
Sulaiman played a crucial role in Nigeria’s quarter-final victory over Senegal on Monday.
The youngster was handed his first start of the competition by head coach, Aliyu Zubairu, and he combined well with Israel Ayuma and Divine Oliseh in midfield.
The Flying Eagles prevailed 3-1 on penalties after 120 minutes of sapping football account.
Alabi declared that the target is now for the team to emerge champions after their qualification for the World Cup.
“I am very happy for the victory. It’s a dream come true for me to qualify for the World Cup,”;; he said after the game.
“At this point, we just want to continue to focus on the subsequent matches so that we can win the AFCON,”;; he stated.
Nigeria will clash with the Amajitas of South Africa in the last four at the Suez Canal Stadium, Ismailia on Thursday.
