2025/2026 Carabao Cup first round draw confirmed [Full fixtures]

Published on June 26, 2025 at 04:54 PM

The first round draw for next season’s Carabao Cup was conducted on Thursday evening.

Newcastle United are the current holders of the trophy, after they beat Liverpool 1-0 in March.

But the Magpies and other Premier League teams were not in the pots for this draw, as it was just for EFL clubs.

Coventry City will take on Luton Town, in what is a repeat of the 2023 Championship play-off final.

Leicester City, who were relegated from the topflight season, are away to Huddersfield Town. Birmingham City and Sheffield United will meet in another big tie.
