Several travelers were abducted by bandits on Tuesday evening along the Gusau–Kaura Namoda road in Zamfara State.

The attack happened at a place called Mangwaron Mutuwa, shortly after the Muslim Maghrib prayer.

The incident was revealed in a post shared on Wednesday by a well-known security analyst, Bakatsine, on X.

According to the post, the bandits laid an ambush on the road, opened fire on vehicles, and forcefully took some passengers away.

One driver managed to escape after the bandits shot at his tires.

“Bandits ambushed travelers on the Gusau–Kaura Namoda road at Mangwaron Mutuwa, yesterday after Maghrib prayer. A driver escaped after they shot out his tires, but several others were abducted,”; he said.

The exact number of people kidnapped is not yet confirmed, and there has been no official statement from authorities as of the time of this report.
