Zamfara INEC receives sensitive materials ahead of Saturday bye-elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Zamfara State has taken delivery of sensitive election materials from the Central Bank ahead of Saturday’s bye-elections in Kaura Namoda South.

The materials, which include 59,488 ballot papers, will be distributed to the six affected wards in the constituency.

INEC’s Head of Operations in the state, Abbas Abubakar, confirmed receipt of the items on Thursday in the presence of security agencies, political party representatives, and the media.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Mahamud Isah, said 14 registered political parties will contest in the bye-elections.
