Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, has described a senior White House trade advisor, Peter Navarro, as “truly a moron”; and “dumber than a sack of bricks”;.
This is his latest salvo in what has become a growing rift over President Donald Trump’s tariff policy.
Musk, who himself is a key aide to Trump, has indicated his opposition to the tariffs.
He has now hit out at Navarro who claimed his electric vehicle company was “not a car manufacturer”; but “a car assembler.”;
Musk reacted on X under a clip of Navarro saying Tesla imported batteries, electronics and tires, and that Musk “wants the cheap foreign parts.”;
The billionaire businessman wrote: “Tesla has the most American-made cars. Navarro is dumber than a sack of bricks.”;
Musk is eager for a free-trade zone between North America and Europe â a wish at odds with Trump’s flagship tariffs.
Trump has ruled out any pause in his aggressive stance despite retaliatory action from China and signs of criticism from within his Republican Party.
