You season 3 release date: Is season 3 delayed?

You season 3 has been one of the most highly anticipated new seasons of a Netflix show since You season 2 premiered on Netflix at the end of 2019.

The second season of the Netflix original series didn’t end on a cliffhanger, but it definitely teased a new season, a new story, and a new mystery. Fans can’t wait to see what’s next for Joe/Will, Love, and the rest of the family in season 3.

Luckily, we don’t have to wait too long for the You season 3 release date on Netflix.

Is You season 3 delayed?

Yes, the creative team, cast and crew of You season 3 were getting started on You season 3 in the spring of 2020, but everything was shut down because of the pandemic. The delay lasted for at least six months and into the fall of 2020 before production started.

The cast and crew wrapped filming on season 3 in the spring of 2021.

It’s unclear if You season 3 was always going to be released in late 2020 or 2021, but that’s what it appears. It’s just going to be a lot later than what we were expecting.

You season 3 release date

You season 3 is coming to Netflix in Q4 2021. We know that much. Ted Sarandos announced that bit of release info during the Netflix Q1 earnings call.

Now, we just have to figure out if You season 3 will be released on Netflix in October, November, or December.

This show is always one of the most popular Netflix shows when new seasons drop. We’ve seen the first two seasons hit Netflix between Christmas and New Year’s Eve for the first two seasons. Based on that and how well it does, I think Netflix could keep that pattern and release You season 3 between Christmas and New Year’s Eve 2021.

We could also see You season 3 a lot earlier in the year. Production wrapped in April 2021, and with how things are going lately, it seems like the time between when a season wraps filming and its Netflix release date is shorter than it’s been in the past. We’re seeing Outer Banks, Atypical, Cobra Kai, Money Heist, and a few other new shows earlier than we thought we would this year. So, that’s a good sign for You season 3 landing in October or November.

It would be great to see You season 3 in October 2021. It’s not a Halloween show or anything, but it does have some terrifying moments. It’d be a perfect addition to Netflix’s Halloween lineup. My only concern is that it’s hard to showcase non-horror shows in October. You season 3 deserves a chance to shine.

That’s why I think it’s more likely that we’ll see You season 3 in November or December. You season 3 just screams holiday release to me. Netflix always likes to roll out big shows around the holidays when people are off of work, and You season 3 definitely fits the profile of a holiday release at Netflix.

In summary, You season 3 is coming sometime between October and the end of 2021. We think it’s going to be a Thanksgiving or Christmas release on Netflix right now.

There were some rumors earlier this year that You season 3 was coming in November 2021, but that was confirmed to be a fan poster as the source of that speculation. The funny thing is that the fan poster might be right!
