SBS’s “The Haunted Palace”; has unveiled tense new stills ahead of tonight’s episode!
“The Haunted Palace”; is a fantasy historical rom-com that delves into the tale of the Eight Feet Tall spirit that bears a grudge against the king, a female shaman who opposes it, and an evil spirit known as Imugi. BTOB’s Yook Sungjae stars as Yoon Gap, a royal archivist and Yeo Ri’s first love who becomes possessed by an Imugi named Gangcheori. WJSN’s Kim Ji Yeon stars as Yeo Ri, the granddaughter of a powerful shaman who rejects her spiritual powers and destined path. Kim Ji Hun plays King Lee Jeong, a fictional ruler who must confront the Eight Feet Tall Spirit, a vengeful entity determined to settle a score with the royal family.

Previously, Gangcheori, Yeo Ri, and King Lee Jeong joined forces to battle the monstrous Eight Feet Tall Spirit. Although they managed to gain the upper hand, they ultimately failed to completely destroy it.
The aftermath of the battle took its toll on the blind investigator Pung San (Kim Sang Ho), whose energy was drained. Using the ghostly Sugwi Makdol (Kim Joon Won), the spirit now targets the unborn child of the pregnant Queen (Han So Eun), plunging the palace into further chaos. In the midst of this turmoil, Gangcheori comes to terms with his feelings for Yeo Ri—just as she is brutally struck while trying to capture Makdol. The sight of her attack sends Gangcheori into a panic, ending the episode on a cliffhanger and raising anticipation for what’s to come.
The newly released stills show a heated altercation between Gangcheori and King Lee Jeong. The two men are confronting each other deep in a secluded forest late at night. The reason for their secretive meeting is unknown, but both are consumed with fury, heightening the tension. With blood smeared around his mouth, Gangcheori is being grabbed by the collar by Lee Jeong—yet he retaliates, raising a clenched fist to the king’s face. The stills raise the question: what could have caused such a violent clash between the two?
The production team shared, “In tonight’s episode, Gangcheori and King Lee Jeong will form an alliance to save Yeo Ri and the Queen, both of whom are critically injured by Makdol’s deadly strike.”; They added, “With their pride and tension always on edge, can Gangcheori and Lee Jeong truly join forces to defeat the vengeful spirit? And in the face of danger, can they rescue the women they love—Yeo Ri and the Queen? Please stay tuned.”;
