YOANE WISSA reportedly waived a bonus owed to him by Brentford in order to seal his £55million move to Newcastle.
The striker’s switch to St James’ Park was one of the most prolonged transfer sagas of the summer and rumbled on until deadline day.

Wissa, 29, had to force his move to Tyneside after rejected two bids from the Magpies.
The DR Congo international issued a statement in August by denying him a move.

And according to talkSport , Wissa agreed to miss out on a bonus Brentford owed him to make sure the move went through.
The forward is said to have “done everything possible” to seal the transfer and met with owner Matthew Benham to clear the air.
The meeting lasted for two hours and led to a positive resolution, with Wissa also agreeing to make a “wage concession” to help Newcastle reduce the cost.
However, Wissa is yet to kick a ball for Newcastle after suffering a knee injury shortly after his arrival.
He is closing in on a return, however, and could be named in the match-day squad to face on Saturday, the report adds.
Wissa returned to full first team training last week and manager said he was due to play in an 11 v 11 training match before making a decision on him.
Howe said ahead of the team’s 2-2 draw against Tottenham on Tuesday: “Yoane participated in an 11v11 training game while we were at .
“He’ll have another one at some stage this week and we’ll see how close he is.
In a boost to Howe and Newcastle, Wissa will not travel with his DR Congo team-mates for AFCON, which starts in late December.
It should allow the striker to build up his fitness with the team and compete for his place up front.
At present, it will be difficult for him to claim a regular starting spot after the superb form of fellow new signing .
The German has seven goals since joining the Magpies in a £69m deal from Stuttgart.
He has a goal and and assist in his last two matches, with five Premier League strikes in 11 games.
