Some of his followers were left stunned by the difference and asked what had happened.

The star quipped back: “Married with kids,” with a laughing face emoji.

But have you worked out who this familiar face is yet?

Well if you cast your mind back to the first ever series of X Factor in 2004, fans will remember show winner Steve Brookstein.

Steve beat G4 to the top spot on the now defunct show.

He released a cover of Phil Collins’ 1984 power ballad Against All Odds, which reached number one on the UK Singles Chart in January 2005.

And now he looks very different sporting a white beard and a bald head in his new profile photo on X.

Steve captioned the photo: “Yes I have aged 21 years not particularly well. But at least I have aged.”

His fans raced to the comment section to share their observations, with one writing: “Still got that lovely face and voice mo doubt.”

A second said: “Aging is definitely a privilege that may are denied. You look great but to be honest that doesn’t even matter.”

Another added: “Shut up…you still got it Steve.”

After winning the talent show, he was signed to Sony BMG record label, but left Simon Cowell’s label after a string of hits a year later.

But , and he’s carried on his singing career over the years.

Back in 2024, Steve was spotted delivering a musical performance at a rustic pub named The Courtyard in Morpeth, Northumberland.

Steve was filmed belting out tunes to delighted revellers and looked unrecognisable while sporting a beard, and performing in a black cap and reading glasses.

After the X Factor, Steve released his first album named Heart and Soul with Song BMG record label.

Then, in 2006, he released his second album 40,000 Things with Numunu Records.

Continuing to pursue his music career, the star released Forgotten Man with Pledge Music in 2014.

And over on social media, Steve, who writes that he’s a “soul singer”, regularly posts videos from his gigs to his thousands of followers.
