ONE of the most glamourous airlines in the world has already relaunched limited flights – with plans to start more passenger routes.
Pan Am was one of the most famous airlines, and loved by the Hollywood elite at the time including Humphrey Bogart, Paul McCartney and Paul Newman.


Launching in 1927, it operated from the US to destinations across Europe, the and Asia.
However, it eventually ran into financial difficulties, especially after the , which took place on Pan Am Flight 103.
It eventually ceased all operations by the end of 1991.
Despite this, the airline recently relaunched a number of charter flights and has even revealed plans to restart passenger routes.
Back in July, a luxury, .
Guests were greeted at ‘s JFK with Pan Am branding, before boarding a flight to Bermuda while being greeted by the pale-blue clad flight crew.
Also flying to Lisbon, Marseille and London, the 12-day trip wasn’t cheap.
With just 50 guests in business class, and five star at each stop, the trip was rumoured to have cost around £50,000 per passenger.
Despite the cost, it sold out in just three days.
And a second trip is set to take place next year, departing from in April 2026.
Travelling to destinations including Japan, Cambodia, Singapore, Australia and , tickets are expected to cost around £70,000.
Craig Carter, the chief executive of Pan American World Airways LLC, told the Times : “We’re looking at various possibilities of starting out with just charters and scheduled charters, then moving to a scheduled service.”
Don’t expect it to have any economy class seats, however.
He added: “We want to be a premium carrier offering a premium product.

“Even if we did offer economy seating, the amount of pitch between the seats is going to be significant. It’s not going to be standard cattle in the economy cabin.”
Initially, the flights will be between American cities such as New York and .
But longer term plans want to extend past just flights, and restore the Pan Am brand.
This includes a new hotel opening in LA next year, operated by Hilton with an immersive restaurant experience in a 747 replica plane, as well as flight attendant servers.
