Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal has reacted after being described as the worst manager by Argentina’s Angel di Maria.
Le Oranje will come toe to toe with Argentina in the World Cup quarter-final on Friday.
That means that Van Gaal and his former player at Manchester United di Maria will cross paths again.
Both men had acrimonious time together at Old Trafford after the Argentine joined in a £60million deal from Real Madrid in 2014.
Ahead of the quarter final game against Argentina, Van Gaal was asked to comment on di Maria’s comments.
“He’s one of the few players with this opinion,” van Gaal said of di Maria. ‘I’m really sorry about this and I find it sad that he said this.
“Memphis had to deal with it too at Manchester, and now we kiss each other on the mouth.”
