AC Milan striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has said that it is not important for him to send captain Cristiano Ronaldo a message following Portugal’s 2022 FIFA World Cup exit.
Recall that Ronaldo was unable to save Portugal as Morocco defeated Portugal 1-0 in the World Cup quarter-final last weekend.
Scenes of a tearful Ronaldo making his way to the dressing room after Portugal’s exit have been replayed on TV screens across the world, marking a difficult ending to the forward’s quest for World Cup glory.
Asked if he would send a message to the 37-year-old, Ibrahimovic told reporters in Dubai, “I think it is not important what I can say. I mean, everybody wants to win the World Cup; not everybody gets to win the World Cup.
“Everybody is trying and if you don’t win it, obviously, you will get emotional, if you win it, you also get emotional in a different way.”
