Uruguay legend Diego Forlan has picked France as the best team in Qatar so far.
Many people believe Brazil is the strongest team at the 2022 World Cup but Forlan thinks otherwise.
Forlan, who won the 2010 World Cup Golden Ball, is working as a media consultant for Uruguay in Qatar.
Asked to name the team he believes could go all the way to clinch the trophy, Forlan pucked France over Brazil
“For me, France has the best team. A little stronger even than that of Brazil. I like this team…”
He explained that despite the French side losing most of the established players to injuries before the World Cup, they are still better “equipped than Brazil to win this World Cup.”
Asked whether Didier Deschamps’ side could cope without the likes of Paul Pogba, N’Golo Kante, Karim Benzema, Christopher Nkunku and other injured top players, the Uruguayan said “Yes, because since the start of this competition, France has shown that it is very good.”
