revealed: “It is difficult. People always see the end results.
“When you practise a little bit, it becomes a lot easier but it is really difficult. I’d had six lessons.
“I have had nine now because I have had a few here. I would not say I am intellectually smart.
“I always spoke a little bit of Spanish with my Spanish physio for this reason — but I’d had six lessons until the other day.”
Gordon, who has 18 Three Lions caps, is pushing to start against in Dallas on Wednesday after impressing against in Orlando last Wednesday.
The former star said: “I try to be direct. It’s what I am good at.
“I was blessed genetically in terms of pace, so it would be a waste not to use it.
“That is where I need to be a game-changer. I need to make sure I am effective in those situations.
“This is my first World Cup and I cannot wait to hear the national anthem.
“The real stuff starts. It is exciting. We are creating memories, as we will never get this time back.”
Asked about playing under England manager , Gordon said: “He is unique. He is an amazing person. He is very sarcastic and very funny once training has stopped.
“You can be yourself, which is not always the case with some managers.”
Gordon, 25, finds his zen each day by meditating.
The pacy winger says it is his secret to staying calm before every training session or match.
He said: ”I meditate every morning and it is purely to think about what I want to achieve through the day, in the session, in the game.
“It makes it easier for me to channel into my next decision.
“If I have a goal, every decision I make through the day, has to be headed towards that and it is easier to end up getting there.
“If I don’t do it, I feel I am all over the place. It is a bit of calm. Football is about letting things go.”
Gordon, who won the Under-21 Euros with England in 2023, added: “Whether you do bad or good. If I make a mistake, when I meditate, I make it easier to let it go and to be right in the moment.
“That moment could decide a game.”
