Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, has changed his mind on the country to win the 2026 World Cup.

The competition is already in the semi-final stage as France will face Spain on Tuesday, while England will tackle Argentina.

At the start of the competition, Ferdinand had backed France as favourites to win the World Cup.

The former England defender later changed his mind and backed Spain to win the World Cup.

However, when asked if he believes England will go on to win the World Cup after qualifying for the semi-final, Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel, “I think we do.

“When the chips are down, and things aren’t going well, England are working things out.

“I think that is one of the things we have over the others. Argentina has managed to do that a couple of times, but they have looked closer to going out than we have.”
