THE World Cup has sadly come to a close, as has the race for the Golden Boot.
Lionel Messi won the World Cup as Argentina beat France in the final on penalties.
The Argentine legend, however, is had to settle for second place in the Golden Boot race.
The pair went head to head against one another in Sunday’s mouth-watering World Cup final.
Both men started the day on five goals each.
But Mbappe scored a hat-trick and Messi notched twice, bringing the final tally to 8-7 in the Frenchman’s favour.
