The constabulary stated: “Police can sadly confirm that a woman’s body has been discovered in the River Yare in Cringleford.
“The discovery was made this afternoon (6 December) in the river by members of the public.
“While formal identification is yet to take place, the family of 79-year-old Jill Grint, who was reported missing yesterday in the Earlham area, has been informed.
“The death is not considered suspicious, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.”
