Officers rushed to Ayton Crescent, to find the man suffering with “significant injuries”.
On Saturday night at around 11pm, were contacted by a concerned member of the public.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, including the National Police Air Service.
But sadly, despite police’s best efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene due to his severe injuries.
The area has been cordoned off and a launched.
A 39-year-old woman currently remains in police custody while cops hunt down a second suspect.
Police have said they will maintain a presence in the area as continue to be made.
But they have reassured locals that they believe there’s no wider risk to the public and are treating it as an isolated incident.
Superintendent Daryll Tomlinson, who has led the investigation overnight, said: “This is a fast-moving investigation, and we have quickly made an arrest.
“I would like to thank members of the public who have come forward with information, as well as the National Police Air Service for their support through the night.
“I would like to reassure the community that this is an isolated incident, with no wider risk to the public.
“Officers will remain at the scene in Ayton Crescent, and there will be an increased presence in the area.”
