Wimbledon opener suspended due to medical emergency as Carlos Alcaraz rushes over to help cover image

CARLOS ALCARAZ rushed to the rescue as his Wimbledon opener was suspended due to a medical emergency.

The reigning champion was taken into a deciding fifth set on Centre Court by veteran Fabio Fognini.

Carlos Alcaraz helped a fan who fell ill

A fan fell ill on Centre Court, causing the match to be halted.

Medics rushed over to attend to the supporter.

Alcaraz was also on hand to help, rushing over and handing a steward a bottle of water to pass onto the fan.
