The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, visited the site on Thursday to review the ongoing construction of the interchange bridge and arterial roads that connect Maitama, Gishiri, and Jahi with Gwarinpa.

This project, officially referred to as the Full Scope Development of Arterial Road N16 (Shehu Shagari Way) from Ring Road II to Ring Road III, features two major interchange bridges at the N16/Ring Road II and N16/Ring Road III intersections.

A section of the project, from Ring Road I to Arterial Road N20 (Solomon Lar Way) within Katampe District, was previously completed and inaugurated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as part of the celebrations for his administration’s second anniversary.

Another segment, extending from N20 to Ring Road II, is currently underway as part of the Jahi District Infrastructure Project.

This leaves an undeveloped stretch from Ring Road III to Arterial Road N40, which will eventually connect to the access road leading to the Renewed Hope Estate in Karsana District.

The section of Arterial Road N16 that is under construction passes through the Gwarinpa Housing Estate. Once it is completed,

it is anticipated to greatly facilitate movement and enhance access for residents of Bunkoro and Wupa Districts, as well as the vibrant Sector Center E, a significant commercial and social hub that includes Gwarimpa II (C03), Kafe (C05), Wupa (C15), and Bunkoro (C18) districts within Phase III of the Federal Capital City.
