That game was actually played in Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium, a mere stone’s throw away from Stadium.

And with no Man City game to worry about until their Premier League opener at the Etihad against Bournemouth next Sunday, Grealish opted to remain behind to watch the derby game.

The 30-year-old was picked up by Sky Sports cameras watching the two sides clash.

It turned out he was in the stands to support best mate and Bluebirds star .

Robinson, 31, is a childhood friend of Grealish, and both played in the academy at .

The pair have remained close, and were seen on holiday together over the summer.

Unfortunately for Grealish he had to wait to see Robinson in action as he was named on the bench to start the game.

Grealish was resigned to the same fate against Arsenal, coming off the bench at half-time with the Premier League champions already 2-0 ahead.
