THE Boat Race returns this weekend as Oxford and Cambridge battle it out once again.

This year’s event is the 170th in history with leading the men’s head-to-head 88-81 and the women’s competition 49-30.

Over 200,000 fans are expected to line the Thames to get a glimpse of the race from Putney to Mortlake.

Cambridge’s men are eyeing a and the women are looking to make it three in a row.

When is the Boat Race 2026?

  • The will take place on Saturday, April 4.
  • The women’s race will start at 2.21pm GMT and the men’s event will begin at 3.21pm GMT.

Cambridge have two-time winner and fifth-year medic Carys Earl and their men’s are led by Frenchman Noam Mouelle.

Four-time under-23 world champion and Los Angeles 2028 hopeful Harry Geffen features for ‘s men and their women’s lineup includes Olympic bronze medallist Heidi Long.
