When is Knives Out 2 coming to Netflix?

The past few weeks have been huge for Netflix. April opened with a major Sony deal that will see the company’s new theatrical releases heading to the platform for an exclusive 18-month streaming window plus select titles from Sony’s back catalogue. Paired with the incredible deal that will make the streamer the home of Knives Out 2 and 3, Netflix subscribers are in for a movie lovers dream in 2022.

The Knives Out sequels are likely the most anticipated films set to make their premiere on Netflix. The first film in the franchise combined comedy and drama into a murder mystery involving a dysfunctional family.

Knives Out 2 is striving to strike gold again with Rian Johnson returning to direct and write the sequels to his monster of a smash hit. He, and his producing partner Ram Bergman, will be reuniting with Daniel Craig for both films, though the Thrombeys will not be making a return.

Detective Benoit Blanc, true to the mystery genre, will be off on a new adventure, picking through truth and lie in Greece instead of New England.

Knives Out 2 release date

Unfortunately, fans of Knives Out will be waiting an undetermined amount of time for the first sequel to hit Netflix. The film doesn’t have a release date as of yet.

Deadline reports filming for Knives Out 2 is set to begin in Greece on June 28, 2021, with casting starting immediately. Currently, the only actor confirmed to be making a return is Daniel Craig.

A turnaround window for the movie to make the first film’s anniversary of November 27 would be an incredibly tight fit even if pushed into December. It’s more likely the sequel will make its debut in 2022, maybe sometime between January-March.

We’ll keep you posted on more Knives Out news as it comes in.
