Wednesday, July 8 sees Emmerdale returning to its usual slot with a 30-minute episode at 8pm.

When do the hour-long ‘specials’ air on ITV?

In December, ITV announced the launch of its soap – where each half-hour episode of Emmerdale is followed by Coronation Street at 8.30pm.

With sport taking centre stage this summer there have been many disruptions to these soap-tastic power hours.

ITV has made up for this with the hour-long individual episodes of both soaps like this week’s Monday and Friday (July 6 and 10) broadcasts.

Fans will still get the equivalent of five half-hour episodes of Emmerdale this week, just in a slightly different format.
