LONDON rivals West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur go head-to-head in Sunday’s Premier League encounter.

West Ham vs Tottenham preview

West Ham and Tottenham face off in Sunday’s London derby – a fixture that, in truth, neither side will be relishing.

For Graham Potter’s West Ham, it’s an opportunity to salvage some pride at the end of what’s been a dismal campaign.

The Hammers are winless in seven and suffered yet another late collapse last weekend, squandering a 2-1 lead at Brighton to lose 3-2 in stoppage-time.

That collapse felt all too familiar for West Ham fans.

Since Potter’s first Premier League game in charge on 14 January, only Southampton (14) have dropped more points from winning positions than the Hammers (12). They’ve failed to win any of the last four games in which they’ve taken the lead (D3, L1).

While West Ham sit 17th and are mathematically safe – 15 points clear of relegated Ipswich with four matches remaining – there’s still pressure to finish the season on a respectable note.

The good news for the hosts is their recent record in this fixture. They’re unbeaten in their last four Premier League home games against Spurs, their best run since the late ’90s.

Tottenham, meanwhile, have their eyes firmly on Europe.

Ange Postecoglou’s men produced a blistering display in midweek to beat Bodo/Glimt 3-1 in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final and are now just two matches from ending their long wait for silverware.

As a result, rotation is expected at the London Stadium. They’ve lost their last four away league games, their worst run since 2019, and shipped 4+ goals in their last two.

Win and BTTS

We’re backing Graham Potter’s West Ham United to grab a much-needed three points against rivals Tottenham this weekend.

The Hammers will field their strongest XI in their penultimate home fixture of the season, and that should be enough to clinch a win IF Ange Postecoglou makes significant changes to his starting XI ahead of next week’s crucial Europa League encounter.

As mentioned, West Ham have won two of their last four against Tottenham at the London Stadium, while the visitors have struggled on the road lately – losing their last four Premier League matches and conceding 12 in the process.

Assist

We’re selecting Jarrod Bowen to provide an assist in this weekend’s clash at 16/5 with William Hill.

The West Ham captain, 28, has provided nine assists in 30 appearances for his club this season – four of those arriving in his last eight matches. His brace of assists against Brighton took him to 37 Premier League assists for West Ham, the outright most of any player.

He also, unsurprisingly, has the highest xA (expected assists) of any West Ham player over the last four Premier League matches – creating five chances.
