President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has cautioned opposition leader Peter Obi, saying the government will not overlook remarks interpreted as supporting possible U.S. military intervention in Nigeria.
Onanuga, in a post on his X page, stated: “wE shall never forget and forgive Peter Obi for supporting a foreign invasion of Nigeria.”
He condemned the alleged stance, warning that such a position is unbecoming of a political leader.
In the video, Obi reportedly stated, “If Donald Trump said he will invade Nigeria, I will welcome it with open arms because security is my priority.”
Onanuga accused the former Labour Party presidential candidate of showing a disregard for Nigeria’s sovereignty.
