The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, stated on Tuesday that he would not allow those who have failed to develop the capital city to undermine his efforts.
Wike made this statement while encouraging FCT residents to disregard the critics of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
During the inauguration of the rehabilitation project for the 15km stretch of the old Keffi Road from Kado, Wike emphasized that Tinubu is making progress.
He remarked, “Out of 103 schools, 73 are currently under construction, and 33 will soon be inaugurated. Of the 105 schools, 73 are located in Amak, which is in the city.”
“Therefore, do not make the same mistake again; do not let those who come to share false stories mislead you. Seeing is believing, isn't that right? Seeing is believing.”
“Do not concern yourself with those who lack seriousness, nor with those who had opportunities to contribute to meaningful development in this country and in Abuja but failed to do so.”
“Today, Mr. President is changing the narrative regarding Abuja. We must not repeat the mistake of seeking individuals who, if given a third chance, may lead us to further failure.”
“We offered them the first chance, and they let us down. We gave them a second opportunity, and they disappointed us again. If we make the mistake of giving them a third chance, it could be detrimental. Do you want to risk that?”
“Thus, we have no choice but to support the current government, which is committed to improving conditions for Nigerians and the residents of Abuja.”
