Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has sarcastically said they will be Carabao Cup champions already.
Guardiola was asked about Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea all getting eliminated from the competition on Wednesday night, and he said: “Yeah, we’ll be champions already, yeah. Thank you.
“We’re confident for the fact that it doesn’t matter.
“I’ve said from day one, if we play a friendly game, Carabao Cup, Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup: we play to win the game.
“And this is the standard we are going to set in this club. Consistency in every competition, we have to do our job.”
Guardiola has won the Carabao Cup four times already since he took the City job in 2016.
The Spaniard lifted it in 2017/2018, 2018/2019, 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 campaigns.
