WAYNE ROONEY has revealed the sweet conversation he had with former Manchester United team-mate Henrikh Mkhitaryan immediately after he made the Champions League final.

Rooney also reserved special praise for Darmian, who had come off the bench to replace Yann Aurel Bisseck in the 71st minute.

Mkhitaryan starred for Man Utd between July 2016 and January 2018, making 63 appearances, while Darmian, 35, played for them between 2015 and 2019 and made 92 appearances.
The attacking midfielder’s goal in the final helped Rooney to complete the full set of trophies at Man Utd.
Both stars were involved in Inter’s last run to the final in 2023, where they lost 1-0 to , with Darmian starting the game and Mkhitarayan coming off the bench.
