CONNOR WICKHAM stunned fans with a goal from the halfway line in the FA Cup.
The Forest Green Rovers star scored a first-half header to give his side a 1-0 lead over South Shields going into added time.
The former Premier League star then showed his top-tier quality with a sensational long-range effort.
Noticing the goalkeeper off his line, Wickham shot from all of 50 yards and found the top corner to send Forest Green through to the second round.
The 29-year-old has seven goals in 14 appearances for the League One outfit and he was delighted with his extraordinary effort.
Speaking to the BBC after the match, the former Sunderland striker said: “I could see three or four times before the keeper was dead high, always off his line.
“I thought I’m not going to beat three people so I just thought he’s off his line why not try it.
“Thankfully it was kind of perfection.”
Fans were stunned by the effort with one fan commenting: “Goal of the season right here!”
Another added: “What a boy ð.”

And a third said: “Belter of a goal.”
Wickham has resurrected his career at Forest Green after an injury-hit few years had limited him to just 19 appearances since 2020.
Next on the agenda for the striker is firing Rovers out of the relegation zone with Ian Burchnall’s side four points off 20th-placed Accrington.
