A new leader, Major General Warrah Idris, has assumed command of Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY) in Zamfara State.
As stated by the Media Information Officer of the operation, Captain David Adewusi, this appointment came after his redeployment from the Defence Department of Transformation and Innovation.
The change of command ceremony took place on Monday at the Theatre Headquarters in Gusau, Zamfara State.
The outgoing Acting Theatre Commander, Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Abdullahi, expressed his gratitude to the officers, soldiers, and civilian staff for their support throughout his tenure.
He noted that the accomplishments achieved were the result of teamwork and professionalism. Abdullahi encouraged everyone to extend the same cooperation to his successor as he transitions to his new role at the Nigerian Air Force Headquarters as Chief of Policy and Plans.
The statement indicated that the ceremony included the signing of handover notes and the symbolic presentation of the command flag.
