WAFU U-20 Tourney: Zubairu keen to sharpen Flying Eagles attack

Published on July 02, 2025 at 03:30 PM

Flying Eagles head coach, Aliyu Zubairu is looking to bolster his team’s attack ahead of the WAFU B U-20 Cup of Nations.

The team resumes camping for the competition in Abuja on Monday.

The Flying Eagles struggled in front of goal at the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations earlier in March.

They finished third in the competition, grabbing a place at the World Cup.

Zubairu claimed the WAFU Cup is an opportunity for his team to correct the mistakes encountered at the U-20 AFCON.

‎“We are taking proactive measures to ensure that the challenges we encountered previously are addressed, squarely,”; he told thenff.com.

The Flying Eagles will face hosts Ghana, and Benin Republic in Group A at the WAFU Cup.
