A cross-section of Nigerians on social media have reacted to the Super Falcons’ 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON semi-final 2–1 victory against South Africa.

DAILY POST reports that the Super Falcons of Nigeria qualified for the final of the WAFCON on Tuesday evening after defeating Banyana Banyana.

Defender Michelle Alozie netted the late winner against the South Africans, with the match seemingly heading for extra time.

Alozie launched a long ball into the South African box, which evaded everyone, including the goalkeeper, and nestled into the net, stunning their formidable opponents.

The victory ensured Nigeria’s qualification for the WAFCON final, where they will face the winner between Ghana and Morocco.

Reacting, some Nigerians on social media hailed the Super Falcons for reaching the final, urging them to go on and win their 10th title.

Others insisted that Super Falcons head coach, Justine Pwanidi Madugu, needs to improve his use of substitutions.
