A former governor of Edo State and senator representing Edo North in the 10th National Assembly, Adams Oshiomhole, has come under intense public criticism following the circulation of a viral video allegedly showing him giving a foot massage to a lady inside a private jet.

The video, which surfaced on X on Tuesday, quickly sparked widespread reactions from Nigerians, many of whom questioned the propriety of the senator’s conduct amid prevailing economic hardship in the country.

Further reports suggested that the lady involved initially shared the clip on her TikTok page before deleting it, though the footage had already spread across multiple social media platforms.

Reacting to the controversy, activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, linked the video to Oshiomhole’s past comments on the state of the economy, accusing the senator of being disconnected from the realities faced by ordinary Nigerians.

Sowore wrote on his Facebook: “Exactly. When ‘Comrade’ Oshiomhole says food prices have dropped, he’s not speaking from the marketplace; he’s speaking from 30,000 feet. A man who can casually rent a private jet for indulgent personal errands lives in a different economic universe altogether.”

He added, “How would someone so insulated from daily struggle know the price of garri, rice, or cooking oil? Hunger doesn’t register in first class, and inflation is invisible when your life runs on private jets and a dirty, privilege-filled lifestyle.”

Similarly, social media commentator Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, criticized the senator’s conduct, arguing that public officials no longer attempt to hide displays of wealth.

VeryDarkman said, “These people no longer hide it. Before, they did it behind our backs; now they do it in our faces. How much is Adams Oshiomhole earning that he’s inside a private jet?”

As of the time of filing this report, Senator Oshiomhole has neither confirmed nor denied the authenticity of the video.
