According to one expert, there’s a specific formula that guarantees success – and no, you won’t need to lower your prices.
This method works for all your listings, whether they are clothes, accessories, or home goods. So, if you're eager to make some extra cash and have a home overflowing with items you no longer use, take notes.
Posting on Vinted, a mother of four and successful seller, Siobhan Hanna revealed the real reason your items might not be selling.
She explained that it’s not due to posting items out of season or pricing them too high.
Siobhan, who has sold 1,408 items in total, has received numerous five-star reviews and has been recognized as a “great seller.”
Sharing her insights, she said: “I’m Siobhan and I’ve sold over 1400 items on Vinted – this is the biggest mistake I see sellers making.”
She then added: “If your items aren’t selling, it’s probably your titles – not your prices.”
Setting the record straight on listings, she acknowledged: “Buyers don’t scroll; they search, and this is the exact order that buyers search in – they look for brand, size, price, and condition.”
As a result, she shared what you should do instead – and it’s quite simple.
She emphasized: “So if your title says ‘cute top,’ nobody will see it, but ‘white linen top size 10’ will actually appear in the search results.”
After experiencing success with this straightforward solution, she exclaimed: “Once I changed my titles to align with how buyers search, my items started selling much faster without lowering the prices.”
Siobhan’s video, posted under the username @ shovey35 , has clearly left many amazed, quickly garnering 85,100 views.
That is very helpful. Thank you!

Do you need to pay tax on items sold on Vinted?
Quick facts on tax from the Vinted team...
- The only time an item might be taxable is if it sells for more than £6,000 and there is profit (selling for more than you paid for it). Even then, you can utilize your capital gains tax-free allowance of £3,000 to offset it.
- Generally, only business sellers trading for profit (buying goods with the intention of selling them for more than their purchase price) might need to pay tax. Business sellers who trade for profit can use a tax-free allowance of £1,000, which has been in place since 2017.
